Hello, Project>Login leaders, volunteers, and friends!
The new academic year is underway, and we're busy expanding our network of students, educators, and professionals. Come join us on LinkedIn!
Our working groups are planning a great year for you! We'll be visiting your campus to kick-off the 2014 internship season on these dates:
Prepare for your campus reception — and help recruiters find your resume — by creating a LinkedIn profile and joining our Project>Login discussion group and students collaborative, too.
Our thanks go to Liz Rensenbrink of Tyler Technologies for working with faculty, administrators, and business representatives to coordinate these receptions. (Recruiters: please join us. Confirm today!)
Do you love your work? Do you want people to know what your career is really like? We do, too; especially young and adult learners who may be considering this profession. We are developing a "Professional Pathways" campaign and we need you. We are gathering short profiles from computing professionals answering three brief questions:
Interested? Send us your answers here: http://bit.ly/1geYcO8, and please share this request with students, teachers, or professionals who are passionate about computing technology and who are working together on exciting projects. Can't wait to hear from you!
Make sure your job listings appear as widely as possible and help your future computing and IT employees find careers at your organization. US.jobs from the National Labor Exchange is the national employment clearinghouse for all industries, and its data is distributed to federal and state websites around the country, including our own career dashboard. Find out how to get your positions posted on US.jobs. And join our Professionals Collaborative on LinkedIn to share your recommendations.
We've been gathering information about Maine schools providing computing courses and activities, such as computer science and engineering, software development, digital media, robotics programming, coding clubs, and more. There's certainly a lot happening around the state, so we've created a Google spreadsheet you can edit. Feel free to add your school's learning opportunities, and be sure to join our Educators Collaborative on LinkedIn and let us know what you're doing.
Help us introduce computer science and computational thinking to learners of all ages! Volunteer for the national Hour of Code campaign in December by hosting an event in your school of community. No prior expertise needed ... you don't even need a computer! Here are guides for schools, businesses, and organizations. Sign up now.
Please send your updates so we can share your newswith our partners and friends! Follow us on LinkedIn, and check out our resource exchange on Diigo. And feel free to send me any questions you may have about Project>Login!
