We are happy to announce the U.S. Department of Labor has awarded a four-year grant for $4 million to Coastal Counties Workforce, Inc. (CCWI). Educate Maine partnered with CCWI on this grant application to support non-traditional pathways for young adults and dislocated workers within IT and computing. Project>Login’s success and Maine’s recent designation as a TechHire community are largely responsible for this money coming to Maine. The grant will provide resources such as career coaching, paid internships, on-the-job training, and short-term, intensive IT boot camps to students from across Maine. The initiative will seek to recruit, assess, train, and place underserved individuals into IT and computing careers. Specifically for Project>Login, this grant will allow us to expand our capacity statewide to work with even more employers and individuals seeking promising careers with Maine companies.
This grant announcement is wonderful news for Maine, and Educate Maine is thrilled to partner with CCWI, other workforce development organizations, educational partners, and Maine employers to support this important work.
We want to thank you for your continued support of Project>Login. We will share more details in the next few weeks. Read the release from Senators King and Collins here.
