Review of CS Discoveries week-long summer institute

August 17, 2021 · blog article by Clarissa Howard
Anyone who is interested in or planning to introduce Computer Science into their school should really take the Code.org Professional Learning Program - CS Discoveries.  This workshop has empowered me so much going into the new school.  Although we moved through material quickly (hands-on work), it was so that we as instructors had an opportunity to experience as much as possible of the Units that are covered in the program and more importantly to gain the perspective of the learner. Our Professional Learning Program from a teacher's point of view

August 16, 2021 · blog post by Christopher Brennick
Completing the week-long code.org Computer Science Discoveries Professional Learning Program through Project Login was both informative and rewarding. Throughout the week I was… READ MORE

I take a lot of professional development and I can honestly say this was the best professional development I have taken in years. We were given time to reflect, process, and debrief both individually and… READ MORE

I had such a wonderful time this past week at Project>Login's PLP Summer Workshop for Computer Science Discoveries! Even though we did not get to experience this in person, the virtual setting was just as effective, if not more effective, in preparing me for new teaching techniques for CSD this year. Having the synchronous sections together will all the teachers in zoom really increased the opportunities to connect with the other CSD teachers. The almost constant breakout rooms made it… READ MORE
